Viva Barcelona was founded in 2001 to introduce Westshore residents to the flavors and atmosphere typical of first class Spanish and Portuguese restaurants. Nick Asimakis, the owner of Viva Barcelona with many years of experience as a restaurateur, has teamed up with General Manager Jason Green and a staff of culinary artists recruited directly from Spain and Portugal. Together they tempt diners with the essence and ambiance of an exquisite Mediterranean journey. We met with Nick and Jason recently, and listened as they provided this overview of Viva Barcelona's offerings;

Viva Barcelona offers the very best in authentic Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine. From scallops and shrimp to salmon and sea bass, all of our fish and seafood is delivered fresh daily, and all of our meats are cut on premises. We take pride in serving the freshest foods you will find on the west side of Cleveland.

We have our main dining room, three party rooms that can accommodate 15 to 100 guests, and an outdoor patio that seats approximately 220 guests. We host weddings, receptions, bridal showers, baptismal parties, girls nights out, and functions for the Westlake and Rocky River Chambers of Commerce. Our outdoor patio is open from May until the weather turns cool in October, and while we are located within the City of Westlake, the atmosphere we present more resembles that found in a picturesque European village. We offer entertainment from Tuesday through Saturday, in addition to monthly fashion shows.

We are known for providing our guests with impeccable service. Inside the restaurant we offer a white tablecloth setting with servers dressed in tuxedos. Most of our employees have been with us for a long time, and you are always welcomed by a friendly staff dedicated to serving you courteously and efficiently. Our Chef, Orlando, inspects everything daily, and leads our kitchen in offering a level of precision seldom found in local dining establishments.

For the past seven years Viva Barcelona has held an annual golf outing each summer. Our 2007 event includes dinner and golf at Avon Oaks Country Club and will be held on August 23rd. Part of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital's cancer unit.

For inside dining, our required attire could best be described as business casual, and our patio is the perfect setting for more relaxed attire. Walk-ins are heartily welcomed, although reservations are strongly suggested.
